Houston, Texas – October 30, 2024 — The Global Syngas Technologies Council (GSTC), has added Russell Hillenburg, President/CEO and Co-Founder of Modular Plant Solutions (MPS), to its Executive Board.

Hillenburg brings his expertise in small-scale modularization and process optimization, along with decades of experience in refining and chemical plant equipment and fabrication to the GSTC Board of Directors’ Executive Committee.

Hillenburg is part of the team at MPS that developed a patented modular process plant design based on the ISO-1496/CSC container standard, so plant modules can be shipped by truck, rail or containerized cargo ship.

MPS’s small-scale modularization approach provides several advantages, such as reduced construction risk, more reliable pricing, faster project completion, and standardized designs. Their modularized plants, including the flagship MeOH-To-Go® plant, are designed to be feedstock-flexible, producing Grade AA methanol and other outputs. These plants can utilize a range of feedstocks, including syngas, natural gas, and renewable natural gas.

“I’m looking forward to working with other industry leaders to help shape the future of the syngas sector and its diverse applications,” said Hillenburg.

GSTC is an international association made up of companies involved in all aspects of hydrogen and syngas use and production. MPS became members of the GSTC in 2023.
