FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, November 7, 2025 – Global engineering firm Modular Plant Solutions (MPS) has licensed its patented modular process plant design to Energy Water Solutions (EWS), a leader in water management technology, for its VOX™ technology. This collaboration marks a significant step in addressing one of the oil and gas industry’s most pressing challenges: sustainable water management.

In the oil and gas sector, managing produced and flowback water, a byproduct of extraction processes, poses both environmental and financial challenges. EWS’s innovative VOX™ technology tackles this issue head-on by enabling on-site water evaporation through modular, mobile and scalable units that reduce water volumes by up to 90%.
MPS’s expertise in process engineering has enhanced the VOX™ product line, optimizing it to meet the diverse needs of customers, from small-scale operators to large enterprises.

By integrating MPS’s patented modularization approach based on the ISO-1496/CSC container standard, EWS’s VOX™ systems will be more easily transported via truck, rail or containerized cargo ship. This enhances accessibility for end users, enabling rapid deployment to remote or challenging sites.
MPS will also collaborate with EWS on the future development of the VOX™ 1000 system, leveraging its process engineering expertise to further refine and expand the technology.
This license is the latest in a series of commercial applications for MPS’s modular process plant design. Earlier this year, in August 2025, MPS licensed the system to ION Clean Energy for its ICE Blocks™ units, demonstrating the versatility and growing demand for modularized design solutions across industries.
